The establishment of the Neuroimaging and Electrophysiology Facility
Neuroimaging and Electrophysiology Facility (NIEF) was instituted as a core research facility to support the scientific research projects of the Neuroscientists belong to COBRE Center for Neuroplasticity at the University of Puerto Rico. NIEF is also entrusted with the task of significant strengthen the research infrastructure of the biomedical research community in Puerto Rico, Latin America, and the Caribbean by providing specialized technical services, training, and access to state-of-the-art instrumentation in confocal microscopy and electrophysiology. The establishment of the NIEF was propitiated by the financial support of an institutional development award (NIH-NIGMS grant P20GM103642) from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences and institutional funds from the University of Puerto Rico.
